A child with a love for music can be a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, parents want to cultivate their child’s creative interests, and know that early musical education can pay off for a lifetime. On the other hand, it can mean hours of having the whole house disrupted with loud experimentation and disruptive practices.

The Korg TinyPiano is a brilliant solution to this problem. It is a real piano, scaled down to a child’s size. For that reason, it has accurate pitch, nice resonance, and good speakers for an instrument its size.

While kids will love playing with a piano that is sized just for them, adults will enjoy the genuine musicality of this instrument, which, while small, is so much more than a toy.

What’s more, it also comes in other exciting colors:  Red and Pink

Korg Tiny Piano Quick Overview

Korg Tiny Piano Black

Korg is a famous maker of professional pianos, and they believe that even children deserve high-quality instruments. They think that, if children are exposed to early instruments with correct pitch and accurate tone, it helps to shape their later musical education.

For that reason, the Korg Tiny Piano is built much like a scaled-down upright piano complete with a fallboard, made of wood for more resonance, and with sampled grand piano for rich sound. It’s scaled down to be friendly for small fingers, with a softened sound that is better for small ears, and a reduced number of moving parts for more durability.

The Korg Tiny Piano may seem expensive for a toy piano, but then, it isn’t a toy. It’s a real piano, scaled down for children. Besides being made in the color black, it also comes in red and pink

Who the Korg Tiny Piano is Most Suitable For?

kids playing korg tiny piano

At just 11 inches tall, the Korg Tiny Piano is recommended for small children, ages 2 to 6. It is the right size for small fingers, with a quieter volume that is good for young ears.

Children who are exposed to musical instruments with high-quality sound at a young age are better prepared to learn and appreciate music in the future, and this high-quality piano can withstand some rough use from small kids. Using the built-in songs, you can even use it as a music box to help send kids to sleep at night.

However, let’s face it. Adults who know how to play piano simply love this little instrument, and can’t keep their hands off it. Even though it only has 25 small keys, the high quality sound and authentic instrument voices make it simply irresistible.

With transpose and octave shift functions, it’s fun to sing along with, and you can choose any instrument voice to play any song in the library. With a fun size and unexpectedly solid sound, the Korg Tiny Piano may even be a better gift for the musician in your life than for the child.

Some adult musicians want the Korg Tiny Piano for specific purposes, like busking, small parties and gigs, or as part of a wider set of keyboards and sample ranges. And some just like it for fun, or as a conversation starter – especially if you get the red or pink versions!

Korg Tiny Piano Black
Goplus Classical Kids Piano, 30 Keys Wood Toy Grand Piano w/ Bench, Mini Musical Toy for Child (Black)

If you are looking for a small piano for a small person, you may have noticed the Goplus Classical Kids Piano.

Like the Korg Tiny Piano, the Goplus Classical Kids Piano is made to look like a grownup, classic piano, but scaled down to child size. Both instruments are designed for toddlers through the age of 6 or so, and both instruments are durably constructed out of mostly wood materials. However, that’s where the resemblance ends.

The Goplus Classical Kids Piano has a cute, grand piano style. Like a real piano, the lid can be opened and the sound is louder. It has 30 small size keys, and is bigger than the Korg, at 19 x 19 x 19 inches. It even has a realistic music rest, and comes with a durable bench.

The Goplus Classical Kids Piano makes a tinkling, toy-like sound that doesn’t resemble a piano at all. And, because it isn’t digital, it doesn’t require power of any kind. It has non-toxic paints, and smooth surfaces designed for safety.

If the price difference weren’t a big enough indicator, the Goplus Classical Kids Piano is a child’s toy, while the Korg Little Piano is a small piano. The Goplus Classical Kids Piano is a fun and attractive instrument, naturally appealing to kids. It’s sturdy and durable, and doesn’t require electricity to play. It makes the light, tinkling noise of a toy piano, and kids love it.

The Korg Tiny Piano is a tiny piano, with high-quality piano sound. It has features an adult would expect in their own instrument, like correct pitch, transpose functionality, and touch-sensitive keys. With the sample songs, it can even play itself, and act as a music box.

The Goplus and the Korg are both good choices for different needs and different families. The Korg Little Piano is an instrument that is fun for children, with a rich sound and great feel that even appeals to adults. The Goplus is more affordable, doesn’t require electricity, and is fun for kids to play with.
